Traditionally, acupuncture has been used to treat a wide range of conditions.
Licensed in meridian-based acupuncture and oriental medicine at the Tri-State College of Acupuncture (TSCA) in New York City, Dr. Kulick has integrated this ancient healing technique into his integrative medicine practice. It is used for pain management, as a treatment for chronic medical and acute conditions, and is a complement to herbal and nutritional treatments. Chinese acupuncture focuses on acupuncture meridians, pathways of energetic circulation along which acupuncture points are located. In Classical Chinese acupuncture, the practitioner looks for signs of over-activity or under-activity, and obstructions in meridian circulation, and then corrects the imbalances and blockages. Dr. Kulick trained in two principal styles of acupuncture at the TSCA, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM). · TCM acupuncture is primarily used in the People’s Republic of China to treat chronic pain and orthopedic conditions, neurological complaints such as Bells Palsey, and post-stroke patients. TCM acupuncture is often combined with TCM herbology to treat acute and chronic internal medical conditions. · APM, a modern approach to acupuncture developed by Dr. Mark Seem, founder of TSCA, draws on modern “trigger point” release techniques, and is applicable to the practice of all forms of physical medicine.
